Anthony Steffes

Born in Beausejour, Manitoba, Anthony Steffes is a mixed media artist who thrives on experimentation. Anthony plays with mediums, textures and found objects to develop layered pieces that challenge the imagination of the viewer. Drawing inspiration from the performing arts, nature and his own garden, Anthony continually challenges himself to avoid that which he can easily control. His work inspires fantasy and evokes memories in the viewer, immersing them in something not easily defined.

Anthony studied art at the University of Manitoba, University of Toronto, Ontario College of Art, Forum Art Institute and through workshops across North America. He currently works as an art instructor to both gifted high school students and adult learners. Despite his formal studies, Anthony feels he has grown and evolved the most through the process of teaching others in the field of art. He is happiest when engaged in the process of helping a fellow artist achieve something they previously thought impossible.
