Eric Ouimet
Eric Ouimet was raised on a farm near the small community of Ste-Agathe in southern Manitoba. It’s no wonder the open sky and small-town imagery is often reflected in his work. Eric graduated from l’Universite de Saint-Boniface in Communications and Multimedia (2001) and has since worked in television as an award-winning motion graphics designer. He has created logos/branding for a number of western Canadian companies.
Screen printing is a natural fit for the graphic artist, allowing him to combine his love of design with a hands-on approach. Eric provides a modernist twist to what’s familiar and relatable in Manitoba’s urban and rural landscapes — infusing hand pulled, original prints with his signature clean lines, bold colour and exceptional eye for good design. Eric’s most recent work includes a collection of large scale one of a kind screen prints and paint on birch wood panels. Living on an acreage just outside the city of Winnipeg with his husband and their dog Pretzel, Eric’s home studio is surrounded by the very things that inspire his work. Eric’s limited edition silkscreen prints can be found in private collections worldwide.
